Virtual bingo for the group that is not in one room

This one is for the group that is not in one room.

The team is on a Zoom call, the family is on FaceTime across three time zones, the friends are in a Google Meet with the game open on their phones. Send one link, everyone taps Join, and each person gets their own card. When "you're on mute" happens, they tap it, and the game keeps score for all of them at once. Nothing to install, nothing to plug into the call, and no caller, because the call is the caller.

Two phones in different cities playing the same virtual bingo game, one on the card and one on the chat.

Same game, two cities, nobody in the same room.

One link in the meeting chat. Everyone plays from their own phone.

Everyone gets their own card, wherever they are

Paste the link into the meeting chat, the family group text, or the calendar entry. Whoever opens it taps Join Game and gets a card: the same set of squares as everyone else, shuffled differently for each player, on their own phone or in a second browser tab next to the call. Every tap syncs to everyone in the game, so the person in another country is playing the same game as the person down the hall. No account, no app, and someone who joins twenty minutes late gets a card and picks up from there.

Built for the video call

The Virtual Meeting Bingo game is ready to go: "Someone joins late", "Can everyone see my screen?", "Dog barks in background", "Awkward silence", "You’re on mute", and 30 more. Start from it and edit anything, or write your own squares for the family call, the long-distance watch party, or the class that meets online. There are no numbers anywhere in the game. Every square is something the group will see or hear on the call, and the group marks it when it happens.

The call is for the meeting. The chat is for the game.

The chat keeps the side conversation out of the call

Nobody has to unmute to say bingo. The game log announces every line the moment the server sees it, the leaderboard shows who is one square away, and the chat tab carries the rulings and the trash talk without a second app or a new group text. The meeting keeps going. The game keeps going next to it.

The game opens itself when the call starts.

Set it for the meeting time, send the link ahead

Set the start time to the meeting time and send the link days ahead. Before the start, the link shows the game details and a message that it has not started; at the start time the game opens on its own. Download the calendar file (.ics) and drop it into whatever calendar the team uses. A new game is private and reachable only by its link, so the all-hands game stays in the all-hands. The host can pause the game when the real agenda starts; while it is paused, taps are not accepted. The game runs until the host finishes it, until the winner count is reached, or for 24 hours, whichever comes first.

Share the tab on the call if you want the whole group watching the leaderboard.

Put the leaderboard on the shared screen, or don't

The game does not plug into Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, or FaceTime, and it does not need to. It is a browser tab. If the host wants the group to watch the leaderboard fill in, they share that tab on the call the same way they would share a slide. If they would rather keep the meeting on screen, the game stays on everyone's phones. Either way the call is untouched: no add-in, no bot, and nothing for the IT department to approve.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work with Zoom or Microsoft Teams?

Yes, alongside them. The game is a browser tab or a phone screen next to whatever call you are on. There is nothing to install in the call and no integration to set up.

Do remote players need an account?

No. They open the link, tap Join Game, and play. A name and an icon are optional.

Can people in the room and people on the call play together?

Yes. It is one game and one link. The people in the room can scan the QR code; the people on the call tap the link.

Is there a caller?

No. There are no numbers. Every square is a moment on the call, and the group marks it when it happens.

Can I use it for a family call, not a work meeting?

Yes. Write your own squares for the people on the call, or start from any ready-made game. The game does not care what the call is about.

Is it free?

Yes. My Event Bingo is free to play. No purchase necessary, no real-money wagering, and no prizes of monetary value.
