5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience and collect information about how you use our platform.

Types of Cookies We Use

  • Essential Cookies: Required for the platform to function properly
  • Preference Cookies: Remember your settings and preferences
  • Analytics Cookies: Help us understand how visitors use our platform
  • Advertising Cookies: Set by Google and our other advertising partners to deliver and measure ads and, where permitted, to make the ads you see more relevant. See Section 6 (Advertising and Ad Partners) for the partners involved and how to opt out.
  • Session Cookies: Temporary cookies that expire when you close your browser

You can control cookies through your browser settings. However, disabling cookies may limit your ability to use certain features of our platform. You can also opt out of personalized advertising cookies using the options in Section 6, or change or withdraw your consent to advertising and analytics cookies at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the site footer.

6. Advertising and Ad Partners

We display advertising on our platform, and we work with third-party advertising and measurement partners to deliver ads and understand how our advertising performs. This section explains who those partners are, how advertising cookies are used, and how you can opt out.

How Advertising Cookies Are Used

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies — such as the Google advertising (DoubleClick) cookie — to serve and measure ads based on your prior visits to My Event Bingo and to other websites across the internet. This allows Google and its partners to show ads that may be more relevant to you.

On our website, until you agree to non-essential cookies, Google advertising is served in a limited mode that does not use advertising cookies to build a profile of you. In our mobile apps, advertising and measurement operate under the app's Terms of Service.

Advertising and Measurement Partners We Use

Advertising (serving ads):

  • Google AdSense and Google Ad Manager: Serve and measure the ads shown on our platform.

Marketing and conversion measurement:

  • Pinterest: Measures the performance of our marketing. When you are signed in, a hashed (scrambled) version of your email address — never your actual email address — may be shared with Pinterest to match ad conversions.
  • X (formerly Twitter): Measures the performance of our marketing.
  • Reddit: Measures the performance of our marketing.

On our website, these marketing partners' pixels load through our cookie consent controls; in our mobile apps they operate under the app's Terms of Service. We may also measure ad conversions through our own servers.

Your Advertising Choices

Opting out does not mean you will stop seeing ads — it means the ads you see will no longer be personalized using advertising cookies. You can control or opt out of personalized advertising in the following ways:

  • Opt out of Google's use of advertising cookies at Google Ads Settings.
  • Opt out of Google and other participating vendors at the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out page, or, in the EEA, at Your Online Choices.
  • Decline non-essential cookies in the cookie banner shown when you first visit our website.
  • Change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookie Settings link in the site footer.
  • Adjust the advertising and cookie controls in your browser or device settings.

7. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

Security Measures Include

  • Encryption of data in transit using SSL/TLS
  • Secure storage in protected networks
  • Regular security assessments and updates
  • Limited access to personal information by authorized personnel only
  • Secure authentication mechanisms

While we strive to protect your information, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

When we no longer need your information, we will securely delete or anonymize it. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information:

Your Rights

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information
  • Portability: Request transfer of your data to another service
  • Objection: Object to certain processing of your information
  • Restriction: Request restriction of processing your information
  • Withdraw Consent: Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. For advertising and analytics cookies, use the Cookie Settings link in the site footer to change or withdraw your choice at any time

10. Children's Privacy

MyEventBingo is a general-audience service intended for adults; it is not directed to children and is not a child-directed service under COPPA. We do not target, or knowingly permit registration by, children under the age of 13.

We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately, and we will take steps to delete that information from our systems.

Important Notice for Parents and Guardians: We recommend that parents and guardians actively monitor and supervise their children's online activities. If you allow your child to use our platform, please review the games and content they access to ensure it is appropriate.

11. Third-Party Links and Services

Our platform may contain links to third-party websites or services that are not operated by us. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party sites you visit.

Important: This Privacy Policy does not apply to third-party websites, applications, or services, even if they are linked from our platform.

12. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have data protection laws that are different from the laws of your country.

When we transfer your information internationally, we take appropriate safeguards to ensure that your personal information remains protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

13. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA):

  • Right to know what personal information is collected, used, shared, or sold
  • Right to delete personal information held by us
  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information
  • Right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information
  • Right to limit the use of sensitive personal information, to the extent we process it
  • Right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights

"Sale" and "Sharing" for Targeted Advertising

We do not sell your personal information for money. However, under California law, "sharing" includes disclosing personal information for cross-context behavioral (targeted) advertising. Our use of the third-party advertising cookies and partners described in Section 6 may be considered "sharing" under the CCPA/CPRA.

To opt out of this sharing, use the advertising opt-out options in Section 6, or contact us to exercise your California privacy rights.

14. European Privacy Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the rights listed in Section 9 above, plus:

  • The right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
  • The right to be informed about automated decision-making and profiling
  • Additional protections for sensitive personal data

15. Do Not Track Signals

Some browsers have a "Do Not Track" feature that lets you tell websites that you do not want to have your online activities tracked. We currently do not respond to Do Not Track signals.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or for other reasons. We will notify you of any material changes by:

  • Posting the updated policy on this page
  • Updating the "Last Updated" date
  • Sending you an email notification (for significant changes)

Your continued use of our platform after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
