The person behind the bingo

I'm Don Gerard, a software architect in the Tampa Bay area, and I built My Event Bingo. Hosts create a game, share one link, and everyone plays from their own phone, with no app to download and nothing to print. Behind that simple experience is a lot of careful engineering, and I enjoy getting that part right so you never have to think about it.

What I do when I'm not calling squares

My company, Coding Innovations (Code Junkies Inc.), builds business software on the Microsoft stack. Most companies have a process that sets them apart, and off-the-shelf software rarely fits it, so people end up living in spreadsheets and email chains. I fix that by extending an existing application, adding integrations and reporting to systems already in place, or building a custom application around a company's own process. My Event Bingo runs on the same tools I use for that work: C#, .NET, Blazor, SQL Server and Azure. I design the architecture and write code myself, and after 20+ years that's still the part I like best.
